How will I benefit from attending Milestone C?
Milestone C students will walk away with key personal and professional skills, as well as a college application resume with a distinct edge. Our programs were envisioned as internship experiences for middle & high school students. While most programs have an engineering & aviation focus, the learning objectives are globally-applicable to all STEM fields.
What are the prerequisites/previous experience requirements?
There are no prerequisites and no previous experience is required. We use analogy-based instruction techniques and hands-on activities to facilitate student learning.
Will I be asked to do work/homework outside the class?
Not at all! All necessary work and activities are completed during regular program hours.
How was your curriculum developed?
Milestone C’s unique and high-impact curriculums were designed by lead engineers at Fortune 500 corporations, veteran aviators, and research scientists to help shape future STEM leaders. Please visit the curriculum details and building blocks pages for more detail. Our curriculums are also aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) so that our partner schools can offer their students credit, if they choose, for completing Milestone C.
What other services does Milestone C provide?
Who do I contact in case of an emergency or with a last-minute absence notification?
You can contact us at (203) 848-0360, (646) 321-5994, or email@example.com any time.
What happens if I miss a class?
While absences are highly discouraged, make-up opportunities are available by attending the missed class at a different locations, watching a video of the missed class (if available), or through one-on-one tutoring with Milestone C instructors (prior coordination required). Please notify us as early as possible if you will miss a class and coordinate a make-up plan. Multiple absences without notice may result in a student's removal from the program. If this happens, tuition will be pro-rated.
What happens if I can only attend part a program?
We highly recommend attending Milestone C programs in their entirety. However, if partial attendance is pre-coordinated before classes begin, we can pro-rate tuition.
What happens if I arrive late?
Classes start on time and we recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early. However, students can join the class as long as they arrive during the first 15 minutes. Instructors will not stop the session for the late arrival, but may offer to work with the student after class to cover missed modules (time and schedule-permitting).
My daughter/son has physical limitations or disabilities. Can she/he still attend?
While each situation is unique and should be discussed, the answer is usually yes. None of our programs’ hands-on activities are physically demanding and most limitations/disabilities will not impact student participation, learning, or progress.
What should I bring with me to class?
Please bring your welcome package, the media release form, a notepad, a pen/pencil, a laptop (only if you have one), water, and lunch/snacks. Meals will not be provided.
How do I register for Milestone C programs?
Depending on our contract structure with the host school, student will either register online with Milestone C or register through their school administration. Students attending from outside host schools will register online with Milestone C.
I am a parent. When and how do I pay for the program?
If students are registering directly with Milestone C and not through their school administration, a $100 registration fee is paid online when the registration form is submitted. Parents will be electronically invoiced for the balance within 2 weeks of each program's start date. Payments are due upon receipt and can be submitted online. If students/parents prefer to pay by check, please bring the check (payable to Milestone C LLC) to class or mail it to 554 Boston Post Road, #130, Orange, CT 06477.
I love what you do! How can I help Milestone C?
We would appreciate any support you can provide to spread the word about Milestone C. Word-of-mouth among students, parents & educators, social media shares, and testimonials are extremely helpful. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
How can I get involved? Are you hiring?
